Vijayabharati is a senior legal associate at Sharma Abhyanker LLP and handles the trademark, copyright and designs filings and prosecutions in India. She has successfully represented a number of clients in their intellectual property matters before the Trademark Registry, India and handles all stages of prosecution including filing, office actions, oppositions, renewals, restorations, cancellation, and rectification. She also has vast experience in drafting intellectual property related agreements including licensing and assignment agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Vijayabharati worked as an associate with Fox Mandal Little, Bangalore in their intellectual property department. She was also a law clerk with Hon’ble Justice D. Y. Chandrachud at Mumbai High Court. Her experience also includes valuable internships with Holla & Holla, Bangalore and Krishna & Saurashtri, Mumbai.

Vijayabharati is an active contributor to the legal literature and has published many articles on Lexology including articles on Mashelkar Report and Registration of Tirupathi Laddu as a Geographical Indication. Her article entitled “Liberalization and Privatization of Aviation Industry: Do we Need New Dispute Settlement Mechanism?” has also published in the book, Emerging Trends in Air and Space Law, edited by Prof. V. Balakista Reddy of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

Vijayabharati holds a LL.M. in intellectual property rights from NALSAR, Hyderabad, and a B.A., LL.B.(Hons) from University Law College, Dharawad (Karnataka University). She is licensed to practice law in India.
